The Association of Artists for the Promotion of Art “Kat-ART-i” invites you to the opening of its 10th group visual arts exhibition titled “WOMEN’S ACTIONS”, which will take place on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Exhibition Hall of the House of Culture.

This exhibition is a continuation of the group show titled “WOMEN AT THE BALLOT BOX!”, which was held in November 2023 at LMU Munich in collaboration with the Department of Modern Greek Studies of the University of Munich, the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Munich, and the Palladion Foundation, under the auspices of the Greek Consulate of Munich. The event marked the 130th international anniversary and the 70th Greek anniversary of women’s right to vote, and was part of a scientific conference on the same topic.

The aim of the exhibition is to highlight through visual expression the tireless efforts of women who fought for the right to education, professional careers, and the right to vote — both to elect and to be elected.

The participating artists drew inspiration from the stories of pioneering women who struggled for a more democratic, equal, and just society. They created original works — made of and on fabric — including garments with diverse materials, that narrate the historical development of women’s suffrage across various countries and cultures. The works explore women’s roles in political movements, the power of their collective voice, the challenges they faced on the path to political participation, the importance of equality and inclusion in democratic societies, and the vision for a future world where women's rights are fully realized.

The artworks also address issues such as sexual liberation and bodily autonomy, the role of women in the modern family, career challenges, the importance of inclusion and equality, and the increasing prevalence of violence and misogyny in recent years.
